Hardide Coatings leads the way in discussion on advanced materials for hydrogen applications

Posted by Hardide  |
As the world pivots towards a green energy transition, the race is on to develop and commercialise hydrogen as a fuel to drive cleaner solutions for heavy carbon-using sectors such as commercial transport and heavy industry. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the world and is three times as energy dense as petrol, but it isn’t without its issues and the production method determines just how clean this energy source really is.

The Advanced Materials Show Conference, being held in Birmingham, UK on 28th and 29th June 2023 will host a session ‘Paving the Way for Hydrogen-based Clean Energy with Advanced Materials’ on Wednesday 28th June at 15:30pm – 16:30pm which will discuss the challenge innovators face when trying to find ways to produce, store and transport hydrogen efficiently, safely and sustainably, and which advanced materials will help deliver this potentially game-changing technology.

Our Technical Director, Dr Yuri Zhuk will present ‘Hardide  CVD Tungsten Carbide Coatings for Sustainable Energy Applications’ and participate in a panel discussion on the materials and components that are set to enable safe hydrogen storage and transportation, and which materials are strong and lightweight enough for hydrogen storage.

The Advanced Materials Exhibition and Conference is the UK’s largest materials event. It is free-to-attend and full details and registration can be found in this link.
